Becoming an expert teacher…

I am currently enrolled in a graduate program at Walden University.  Our current topic is how a teacher goes from being a novice to an expert.  The “experts” have a myriad of opinions on just how someone becomes an expert teacher, yet others believe that it cannot be achieved.  As a novice (2nd year) teacher myself, I find that being an expert teacher is a long way off.  Has anyone achieved this level? Any suggestions as to how a teacher can make the transition?
